Bubble Bites Series - Episode 6

Online

28th May 2020, 5:30pm

Creative Mercury Bay presents our sixth episode of:

"BUBBLE BITES" - A SERIES OF SHORT PERFORMANCE BY ARTISTS FROM THE COROMANDEL

In this weeks episode we feature the below artists:

Stewart Pedley - Singer/Songwriter

Stewart Pedley is a Whitianga-based songwriter and musician. During the time in COVID-19 lockdown, he balanced the immediate rhythmic vibrancy of music with the quieter introspection of beach walks and journal jotting. Some of these ideas became short poems, all shaped by this time. This is their first public outing.

Stewart will be performing his poems Here, Above The Valley, Now Playing On The Big Screen and When School Was Wearing Ninja Clothes

Vegas Brown - Reggae/NZ Roots/Acoustic Rock Musician

For Vegas Brown, music is his heart, soul and life-blood. He comes from a diverse and eclectic musical background, beginning his journey as a musician at the age of thirteen. He’s performed in well-known New Zealand bands including Mama Said (lead vocalist), 48 May (drummer) and popular covers band Warrant of Fatness.

In 2006 he returned to lead vocals and songwriting, this time as a solo artist. His heartfelt and honest songs about his own personal issues, both positive and negative –  moments in time that ultimately defined him are emotive creations. His live sets are a combo of original songs counterbalanced with the recognizable covers that never fail to get people up and dancing. Whether it be behind the drums, behind the microphone or simply behind the next person in line, Vegas Brown exudes a genuine and sincere love for his craft.

He will be performing original songs TBC

Chance Taiaroa Wiari Haddon - Rapper/Producer

Chance Haddon is an artist, producer and rapper who found a passion for producing and rapping in his last year of high school. His music is inspired by storytelling and life experiences, and he enjoys producing music that recreates and traverses genres.

Chance strongly believes that music with a message and positive energy is a very powerful thing and bases his lyrics on L.R.H - love, respect and honesty. He feels these are things we are all trying to attain in some form, with music having an emotive foundation.

He will be performing his original songs Say/Get and Life Goes On.

Bubble Bites is by locals, for locals, offering ‘bites’ of local talent free to you in your bubble.

Every week at 5:30pm, we’ll release a new episode on our YouTube Channel, a 30min show featuring performances by 3 local artists.
