Charlotte Giblin

Whether you are a beginner or an accomplished professional looking to refresh your skills, Charlotte’s regular drawing classes and weekend workshops can help all artists by concentrating on “training the eye” to look at lines, shapes, ‘negative space’, and angles in relation to one another.

The drawing techniques and exercises used in the classes can help to create a solid foundation for any style of artwork, as being able to “see” is the basis of all accomplished art.

About the Tutor

Charlotte Giblin had an academic art education in the UK which was grounded in traditional drawing techniques and went on to complete a BA(Hons) in Ceramics before running her own handmade pottery business for 10 years. She moved to New Zealand in 2009 and was the Director of the Wallace Gallery in Morrinsville until May 2012 when she moved to Whitianga. Charlotte is a practising artist and paints whimsical pictures about her adventures in New Zealand; illustrates children’s books and teaches drawing in regular classes and weekend workshops.

Melinda Rapson

I run ‘Junior Art & Craft Classes’.

The classes run after school during the year for local kids both in Pauanui and Tairua and I also run holiday programmes. . I design the classes to cover a wide range of interests, skill levels and to introduce children to different art and craft techniques.

The classes provide children with a fun activity, while giving them a sense of achievement in their creative abilities.
